What does the A/M button control on the lens?
Answer- The A/M button on the lens stands for automatic and manual. This controls the focus of the camera. Manual setting allows more control over what the photographer would like to do with the camera . Automatic picks up the subject on its own and it allows less creativity.

- on/off-on the very front(towards the lens) on the right side
- shutter release- near the on and off switch, front right side
- exposure compensation- found on right side, top of camera, next to on/off button (+/-)
- flash button- left side of camera, above function button
- viewfinder- above digital screen
- menu, multi selector/ok- left side of digital screen, underneath play button
- memory card slot cover- Found on the left side on the camera
- battery cover- found on the bottom right side of the camera
- tripod socket- located on the bottom of the camera

How to?
- Delete all images on the camera- You go to menu,playback menu and then delete or reformat the card. Go to the wrench icon, format and then continue
- Set the Image Quality to JPEG Fine-
- Set the Image Size to Large-
- Set the Mode dial to Auto- Turn dial to auto
- Turn the auto Flash Off- Turn the camera on and rotate the mode dial to Auto (flash off).
- Set exposure compensation to +/- 0-
- Check battery charge. If 1 bar or less replace battery- To check the battery charge check the top right hand corner of the screen and the battery life should be displayed
- Set the lens to A- You move the switch found on the lens towards the A
